Events

With over 240 events every year, the School of Music is one of the bigger concert organizers in the Rhine-Main region. Orchestra and chamber music concerts, opera projects, jazz concerts, lecture evenings, examination concerts, inaugural and faculty concerts are the platforms on which the school's students and teachers show their talents to the public. Highlights of the concert activities include opera performances under professional conditions realized in cooperation with the musical theaters of Rhineland-Palatinate as well as the multifaceted series of summer festivals entitled "MainzMusik."

Other collaborative events are realized in conjunction with the Peter Cornelius Conservatory, the Villa Musica, the university's General Studies, the Frankfurter Hof, the Erbacher Hof, the State Museum Mainz, and others.

In addition, there are seminars, workshops, and courses as well as the annual International Summer School "Singing Summer." Presentations, conferences, and conventions allow participants to gain an insight into current issues of importance in the world of music.

Information events especially for high school students give those considering studying at the Mainz School of Music the opportunity to experience the school "live," while special information events for freshmen and those moving from other universities are held at the school at the start of each semester.
